Retinal Treatments

Retinal treatments are medical procedures that aim to address various retinal conditions, such as:

  • Laser Therapy: Used to close retinal tears or to treat diabetic retinopathy by reducing abnormal blood vessel growth.

  • Vitrektomi: Surgical removal of the vitreous gel to repair retinal detachments or remove scar tissue.

  • Injections: Anti-VEGF injections to treat age-related macular degeneration and other conditions that cause abnormal blood vessel growth and leakage.

  • Cryotherapy: Freezing treatment to repair retinal tears or detachments.

Regular eye examinations are crucial for the early diagnosis and treatment of retinal diseases.

Laser Eye Surgery

Laser Eye Surgery

Laser eye surgery is a procedure used to correct vision problems such as nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. The most common types are LASIK and PRK, which involve reshaping the cornea using a laser to improve the way light focuses on the retina. These surgeries can reduce or eliminate the need for glasses or contact lenses.

Contact Lenses

Contact Lenses

Contact lenses are thin, curved lenses that are placed directly on the surface of the eye to correct vision problems such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. They provide a convenient alternative to glasses and come in a variety of types, including daily disposable, extended wear, and toric lenses for astigmatism. Contact lenses provide a wider field of vision and can be more comfortable for physical activities.

The Threat of Dry Infection

The Threat of Dry Infection

Dry environments can increase the risk of infection, especially airborne viral diseases. Research shows that viruses remain infectious longer in dry air because the droplets of saliva that carry the virus act as a protective barrier. This highlights the importance of maintaining proper indoor air quality and humidity levels to reduce the spread of infections.

Vision Correction

Vision Correction

Vision correction refers to a variety of methods used to improve or correct vision. Common options include:

  • GlassesLenses that correct refractive errors such as nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism.

  • Contact Lenses: Thin lenses placed directly on the eyes offer an alternative to glasses.

  • Laser Eye Surgery: Procedures such as LASIK and PRK that reshape the cornea to correct vision.

  • Implantable Lenses: Surgically implanted lenses that can correct severe refractive errors.

These methods can significantly improve the quality of vision and reduce the dependence on corrective glasses.
