Eye Treatments
Eye treatments include various procedures aimed at improving eye health and appearance:- Corrective Surgeries: LASIK and PRK to correct vision problems.
- Cataract Surgery: Replacing cloudy lenses with artificial lenses.
- Glaucoma Treatment: Medications and surgeries to reduce eye pressure.
- Dry Eye Treatment: Artificial tears and medications.
- Cosmetic Procedures: Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) to remove excess skin.
Retina Treatments
Retina treatments are medical procedures aimed at addressing various retinal conditions such as:- Laser Therapy: Used to seal retinal tears or treat diabetic retinopathy by reducing abnormal blood vessel growth.
- Vitrectomy: Surgical removal of the vitreous gel to repair retinal detachments or remove scar tissue.
- Injections: Anti-VEGF injections to treat age-related macular degeneration and other conditions causing abnormal blood vessel growth and leakage.
- Cryotherapy: Freezing treatment to repair retinal tears or detachments.
Laser Eye Surgery
Laser eye surgery is a procedure used to correct vision problems such as myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism. The most common types, LASIK and PRK, involve reshaping the cornea using a laser to improve the way light focuses on the retina. These surgeries can reduce or eliminate the need for glasses or contact lenses.
Contact Lenses
Contact lenses are thin, curved lenses placed directly on the surface of the eye to correct vision problems such as myopia, hypermetropia, and astigmatism. They offer a suitable alternative to glasses and come in various types, including daily disposables, extended wear, and toric lenses for astigmatism. Contact lenses provide a wider field of vision and can be more comfortable for physical activities.
Dry Infection Risk
Dry environments can increase the risk of infections, especially airborne viral diseases. Research shows that virus-carrying saliva droplets act as a protective barrier, allowing viruses to remain contagious longer in dry air. This highlights the importance of maintaining proper indoor air quality and humidity levels to reduce the spread of infections.
Vision Correction
Vision correction refers to various methods used to improve or correct eyesight. Common options include:- Glasses: Lenses that correct refractive errors such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism.
- Contact Lenses: Thin lenses placed directly on the eyes, offering an alternative to glasses.
- Laser Eye Surgery: Procedures like LASIK and PRK that reshape the cornea to correct vision.
- Implantable Lenses: Surgically placed lenses that can correct severe refractive errors.
